THE PANIC CHANNEL To Release Music Via iTunes
May 1, 2006THE PANIC CHANNEL, the new band featuring three quarters of the most recent lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION (guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney) and former SKYCYCLE vocalist Steve Isaacs, have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Here is what's up in the world of PANIC: We started up our rehearsals yesterday and it looks like we will be performing most of our entire album on our upcoming tour with a few alternate B-sides and covers to switch it up from night to night. I don't think we have mentioned this anywhere yet, but we will be releasing two tracks on iTunes for digital download on May 16th. 'Why Cry' and 'Teahouse of the Spirits'. Capitol, our label, wanted to lead with 'Why Cry' and we wanted to lead with 'Teahouse'. This way, we get them both out there. Between those songs and the tracks I play on [Spread Radio Live, Navarro's Internet radio station] ('Listen', 'Bloody Mary', 'Go On'),some of you will be fairly familiar with a lot of our set. Anyway, we are in our regular old studio for the next week to scrape some of the rust off these songs and then we move into a larger room that has DSL connection. I'm thinking of incorporating The Panic Cam in that room and just leave a live stream on when we are working. There won't be any audio, but it will be more interesting than the live Fish Cam. Plus, we are still properly filming our final days with audio for a clear sounding and smooth streaming video feed. Stay tuned!!!"
THE PANIC CHANNEL's debut album, "(ONe)", will be released on September 12. The CD was produced by Josh Abraham, whose resume includes such multi-platinum artists as KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. Mixing duties were handled by Ryan Williams, who has previously worked with veteran producer Brendan O'Brien.
